Floor Trusses Can I Install Prefinished Hardwood Parallel With Floor Joists?

Can I install prefinished hardwood parallel with floor joists? - floor trusses

Bruce, I am installing a 3 / 4 "x 3-1/4" panel parquet. My soil is Trusses 16 "with 3 / 4" from the language and the sub-groove plywood floor. I use the parallel beams of wood? What problems can we expect?

If the basement is on the beam at a right angle to it, should not be a problem.

If avoiding sheet of paper or foam under the tables to take small breaks in the tongue and groove enters the time? (Paper also makes the installation easier).

Yes
The manufacturer will suggest a "1" if you go parallel to the surface, 3 / 4 "up front, but no problem. Unless you have 3 / 4" T & G is good. PL Premium Adhesive is suitable for the introduction, the conclusion of several of the corners at the end. Its cheaper to buy the plant installed a compressed air nailers, the rent is. I have the style of the stapler, it runs very well on prefabricated materials. Make sure your floor is flat and very clean. All the bumps and holes telegraph bands and open to the sand for a good flat surface.

Have fun. Make sure you have enough time ... a good installer can make between 300-400 square feet in a 10 hour day.

Good Luck
